I’m embarrassed. I’ve been involved in the Internet community for many years now and I consider myself to be a fairly technical person. I have attended more Internet-related events that I can keep track of. But, this is the first time I buy a domain name and build my own website.
I have been thinking about doing this for a while now, but it ended up being a 2021 resolution. I’m doing well so far. We are in the second week of the year. But, despite de fact that building the website itself was less daunting than expected, I believe the hard part starts now.
Have publicly available content to share, mostly about what I do professionally, is my main goal here. But I might also slip a thing or two about my hobbies (mainly surf – hence the “tide” in the domain name) or just fun, interesting stuff. Well..interesting to me at least. This is my webpage after all, right?
Also, apparently due to my education (German school, Engineering) and the idiosyncrasy of the country I grew-up in (Uruguay, South America), I’m hardwire with a “principle-first” or “deductive” reasoning approach. So, most of my post, will have a fair deal of understanding concepts and go in depth into basics, before reaching a conclusion. Also, it will make my posting less regular. Not that anyone but myself fully cares at this point, but I guess it is always good to make the disclosure early in the blog-posting game.
Last but not least, I will almost always use pictures myself or my partner Lucia took. I’m a Creative Commons kind of person, but will make sure I attach the proper attributions when needed.
I hope you enjoy my page and what I have to say!
Best wishes, Warmest regards
